Subdomains, installs, and the messy bits.
The questions builders hit when traffic lives on more than one host.
- Do I need a site for every subdomain?
- Usually no. Register the whole domain (example.com) and one snippet covers the apex plus subdomains like app. and blog. Future hosts under that domain show up in the same dashboard.
- I already tracked a subdomain on its own. Now what?
- Keep the history. Combine it into your main domain site when you're ready. Pageviews move over, the old subdomain site archives, and you keep one place to read the story.
- What do I enter for the domain?
- Just the hostname: example.com or app.example.com. No https://, no path. Sabilytics strips protocols if you paste a full URL by accident.
- Can I focus on one subdomain in the dashboard?
- Yes. On an apex site, use the + beside the domain to filter to a subdomain, or clear it to see every host again. Apex-only is there too when you need it.
- Will new subdomains show up automatically?
