Today's Standup: How to Read Your Daily Website Brief (2026)
Today's Standup is a daily brief built from your traffic, experience, and discoverability checks. Learn how to read it, what it is not, and how it differs from a traditional analytics homepage.

Today's Standup is Sabilytics' daily brief: a short read of how the site is doing, then the pages that deserve a fix. It is built from traffic you already collected, Experience Pulse, and your latest AI and Search Discoverability scans.
It is not a chatbot inventing a narrative. It is not a wall of charts you have to interpret before coffee. It answers the question you actually opened the dashboard to ask: what happened, and what should I do next?
This guide is for builders who have tried Google Analytics in the morning and left with more tabs than decisions. If you want the category first, start with traditional vs insight-first analytics.
TL;DR
- Standup leads with a diagnosis (what kind of day this is), then facts, then a focus list of pages.
- The copy is composed from your numbers: visitors, sources, pages, vitals, and open discoverability issues.
- Starter includes the diagnosis. Builder unlocks the full action plan and Ask AI.
- It does not replace page reports, custom events, or Search Console. It tells you where to look first.
Why a standup instead of a homepage of widgets
A traditional analytics home asks you to assemble the story: sessions up, bounce unclear, a source you do not recognize, a page that might be slow.
A standup assumes you have five minutes.
- What kind of day is it? Quiet, growing, a performance leak, a crawl problem, an AI-readiness gap.
- What are the facts? Visitors vs yesterday, top source, a notable exit, scores if you have scans.
- What should I fix? Pages grouped with a reason, not a dump of every metric that moved.
That is the same habit as an engineering standup: status, evidence, next work. The site is the teammate.
What Standup is made of
Sabilytics already loads these for the site. Standup only arranges them.
Traffic. Visitors today (or the range you picked), change vs the prior period, top source, a notable exit that is not just "people left the homepage."
Experience. Loading speed (LCP), interaction (INP), and layout stability (CLS) from real visits. A green day of traffic with a red pulse is a different story from a quiet day that still feels fine.
Discoverability. Latest AI and Search scores, plus open issues on pages you have scanned. Homepage noindex and a missing sitemap show up here because they change what "growth" even means.
Page Opportunities. When you have a portfolio of scanned pages, Standup prefers those over a single homepage finding list. Traffic and scores together decide which URL is first.
None of that requires a second product. The brief is a reading order.
How to read a briefing
Skim in this order. Stop when you know the next click.
- The mode line. If it says the day is quiet, do not hunt for a crisis in the charts. If it says performance or SEO, believe that before you celebrate a traffic bump.
- The facts. Confirm the story with one or two numbers you already trust (visitors, top page).
- The focus list. Open the first unlocked page. One issue, one deploy, then re-check tomorrow.
You do not need to clear the list in a day. Standup will still be there. The point is a default next action, not a complete backlog tool (unless you send a card to Linear).
What you will not see
City-level visitor maps. Privacy-first analytics stays at country-level location. The brief will not narrate a neighborhood.
A promise that traffic "went viral." Change percents on tiny counts swing. Treat a +200% day on eight visitors as a hint, not a launch retrospective.
Every GA report. Funnels, cohorts, and ad attribution are not the job. Keep Search Console and ads tools for those questions.
Fiction. If a scan is missing, the brief will not invent a score. If vitals have too few samples, treat the pulse as directional.
Starter vs Builder
Starter shows the diagnosis: what kind of day it is, and enough context to know whether to worry. Some focus rows may be locked (page label and outcome, not the full fix list).
Builder unlocks the action plan, Ask AI on the brief, Daily Brief email, and fuller discoverability coverage. You can also create a Linear issue from a focus card when the site is connected.
Free is meant to show the habit. Paid is meant to finish the work without leaving the dashboard.
Common myths
"This is AI slop on top of my stats."
The sentences are templated from your data and checks. The value is the reading order, not a generated essay.
"If Standup is green, I can ignore Experience Pulse."
A healthy traffic mode can still hide a slow template. Open the pulse when the brief mentions loading, interaction, or layout.
"I should treat every focus row as P0."
Severity is a sort, not a fire alarm. High on a page nobody visits can wait behind medium on /.
"Standup replaces installing Search Console."
No. Console still owns query coverage over time. Standup tells you whether today's site health and traffic deserve a look.
Frequently asked questions
Is "Today's Story" the same thing?
Older Sabilytics copy used Today's Story for the same habit. The dashboard name is Today's Standup. Same job: what happened, what to fix.
Do I need the tracking snippet?
Yes for traffic and Experience Pulse. Discoverability scans can run on a public URL without it, but the brief is thinner until visits land.
Can I share a standup?
You can share period insights from the dashboard when you want a snapshot. The live Standup stays on the site you have access to.
What if I have several sites?
Each site has its own brief. Open the site you shipped to this week. Do not average them in your head.
Where should I start if I am overwhelmed?
Install the snippet. Browse the site once. Read tomorrow's Standup. Fix the first unlocked page, or run the free AI and Search checks if scans are still empty.
Make the morning shorter
Traditional analytics is not the enemy. An uninterpreted homepage is.
If you want the next check-in to start with a brief instead of a report picker, open your dashboard. One snippet. When the first visit lands, Standup has something to say.
